Connect your AI app
Connect an AI app to your FlowState. It takes about a minute.
An MCP connector is the link that lets your AI app read and save your FlowState memory.
Your connector URL:
https://hosted.flowstatemcp.com/mcp
Claude
Free accounts can add one custom connector. On Claude web or desktop, open Customize, then Connectors, then + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it FlowState, paste the URL above and click Continue. Review the detected authentication settings, choose Sign in now, and finish with Add. Connect and enable it for your conversation. Team and Enterprise accounts may need an owner to add it first.
Claude Code
Run this, then type /mcp and pick flowstate to sign in.
claude mcp add --transport http flowstate https://hosted.flowstatemcp.com/mcp
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json on Mac or Linux, or %USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json on Windows. If the file already exists, merge the flowstate entry into its mcpServers object and keep the other entries. Restart Cursor, then find FlowState in Customize or MCP settings and complete the sign-in prompt.
{"mcpServers": {"flowstate": {"url": "https://hosted.flowstatemcp.com/mcp"}}}ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT on the web. Full read and write support is on Business and Enterprise/Edu, subject to workspace permissions. Business admins or owners can create connections; Enterprise/Edu admins can also authorize members. Pro supports read/fetch only, so it cannot save decisions in FlowState.
- Open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter the name FlowState and the HTTPS URL above under Connection.
- Configure authentication with OAuth and follow the sign-in prompts.
- Review the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.
- Select Create as a plugin, review the tools, then install it. In a new chat, type @ and select FlowState.
VS Code
- With AI features enabled, open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux).
- Run MCP: Add Server and choose HTTP (HTTP or Server-Sent Events).
- Paste the URL above and enter a server ID, such as flowstate.
- Choose where to save it. For personal Copilot use, choose Global, then Copilot Global when offered; use the workspace destination to share with a team.
- Review and approve the trust and sign-in prompts for this server. In the agent chat, ask it to use FlowState.
Grok and other apps
If your app supports remote MCP, add a custom connector with the URL above. Check your app's plan and tool permissions.
Your app then opens a FlowState page. Sign in with your FlowStateMCP account (Google, GitHub or an email code) and click Allow. The app shows up under Settings, Connected apps.
Try it
Once connected with write access, ask your AI: Create a FlowState project called First steps and save a decision in FlowState: we use Postgres.
Approve the tool call if your app asks, then check Activity for the saved decision. If it is waiting for review, open Review. ChatGPT Pro is read/fetch only; use a write-capable app to try saving.
